April News
April is Passport Month in the Columbia Gorge AVA and we will be participating all month with some very exciting events. Join us this Friday, April 10th at Castaway in Portland for the grand tasting, 4pm – 7pm (Trade Tasting 3pm-4pm). The $35 admission for the Portland Tasting includes a Passport for April Passport month in the Gorge. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door if not sold out. This weekend we will be hosting the Solstice Pizza Oven at the winery to celebrate the Food and Wine Weekend of Passport month. Solstice will be at the winery from Noon to 5pm both Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th, the tasting room will be open from 11am -6pm.
2014 Celilo Pinot Noir Release and Barrel Tastings
April 18th and 19th is “Gorge Grapes Weekend” the perfect time to release our very special, gorge grown 2013 Celilo Vineyard Pinot Noir. We produced our first ever vintage of Syncline Pinot Noir back in 1999 with this special fruit, and we continue just for the love of it. Truly mountain grown fruit, Celilo Vineyard produces wines of exceptional focus and clarity. Located on an extinct volcano at high elevation overlooking the Columbia River Gorge, Celilo gives us Pinot with a delicate perfume of raspberry and pie cherry, echoed by subtle notes of anise with silky tannins and a bright finish.This bright, dry wine is loaded with strawberry and watermelon flavors and aromas. Delightfully fruity, yet complex and flavorful; this is a most versatile and food friendly wine.
